Summary of the Project

The aim of Formative Assessment in Mathematics (FAM) project is to present an overall picture of formative assessment in the nation, explore the current status of formative assessments in kindergarten through grade 12, and provide an operational definition of formative assessment that can guide development and implementation of formative assessment in schools. 

Based on the information collected from various resources and practices, the project develops a set of formative assessment prototypes that can be used as a tool for teachers who are planning to use formative assessments. It was conducted in five different phases, each phase informing the next phase as well as the entire study, as shown in the figure below.
